Working For Us

You can work for DRC in a number of ways. We have paid staff, as well as volunteers who work as counsellors, phone line staff and as crisis workers.

Crisis Workers

Crisis workers will cover out of hours use of Millfield House, and provide emotional support and information to clients using the forensic medical facilities.

Placement Counsellors

DRC is happy to offer placements to student counsellors in the second year of their Post Graduate Diploma, subject to interview and completion of our in-house training programme. [application form]

All counsellors agree to take on a minimum of two clients per week, and two hours on the phoneline.

Volunteer Counsellors

DRC recruit new counsellors regularly. To work for DRC as a counsellor you must have a Post Graduate Diploma and be in regular supervision.

We also expect all volunteers to complete our in-house training programme.

All counsellors agree to take on a minimum of two clients per week, and two hours on the phoneline.

Volunteer Phone Line Staff

To be a phoneline volunteer, you will need to successfully complete our in-house training programme, and agree to take on two hours per week. All phone line staff must also have regular group supervision, which is provided by DRC. [application form]
